Andras (they/them) (formerly known as Igor Meneses Sousa) is a dancer and musician from Salvador,
Brazil. Since 2016 they live in Düsseldorf. They began their artistic work in their childhood with acting in
the Novos Novos Company in Salvador, followed by dance training at the prestigious Escola Contemporanea
de Danca in Brazil. After graduating from the renowned Bolshoi School in 2015, where Andras specialized in
ballet and contemporary dance, Andras continued their artistic education at the Folkwang University in
Germany in 2016.

After successfully completing their studies, Andras worked for choreographer Ben J. Riepe on major dance
pieces, including GESCHÖPFE (2020), CREATURE (2021), The Patient (2022), EVER|RÊVE (2023) and
Sainte Réalité (2023). In parallel, Andras began independent dance research, often in collaboration with
Paula Pau.

Since 2020, Andras has also been making their way into the music world as musician Andras_2020. One of
their tracks was featured on the Mutants mixtape initiaded with the support of the Barcelona-based
Venezuelan musician Arca and struck a chord with listeners. This paved the way for the release of their debut
EP Cuerpo Temperamental in 2021. The release marked the start of the collaboration with 3D artist Lukas
Becker. Together they went on the Cuerpo Tour through Western Europe in 2022 and have been presenting
the immersive audiovisual performance Blowhole Live! since the beginning of 2023, which has been met with
great response. The second EP will be released in early 2024.

They have also participated in several dance residency programs: After Present, #TakeCareResidency (2021),
supported by PACT Zollverein; @gaze, #TakeHeartResidency (2022), supported by tanzhaus nrw and PACT
Zollverein; Blowhole, #TakeHeartResidency (2023), supported by PACT Zollverein; repräsenTANZ,
Nationwide Artist Labs (2023) in Hamburg.
